This past March, 2010, Lakewood Foothills Rotary Club was proud to sponsor the First Annual Lakewood State of the City luncheon, held at the Sheraton Hotel in Lakewood, Colorado. | | Mayor Bob Murphy, Lakewood, Colorado |
Mayor Bob Murphy spoke on the topics of how a strong community survives, even in difficult times, and moves on to proper. Lakewood has laid the foundations for making the city an enduring community set to flourish in the coming decade. He also described new city programs for business programs, the preparations for coming investments, the groundwork for new job creation and the commitment to the new energy economy. | | District 5450’s Governor, Michael E. Oldham |
Sharing the spotlight with Mayor Murphy was Rotary 5450’s own District Governor, Mr. Michael E. Oldham. Governor Oldham described how Rotary became a driving force in the community from the original 4 founding members to a group of over 1.2 million dedicated individuals that make up Rotary International today. Attendies were also treated to a special performance by Eclipse; the Lakewood High School Music Ensemble. Plans are being made for the Second Annual State of the City Luncheon, and details will be posted on this website. Look for an announcement on the Home Page of LFHRotary.org around January, 2011 for details on the next State of the City Luncheon!
